Why is Tax key for Financing Education and What Can GPE Do?
GPE prioritises domestic resource mobilisation but presently looks only at the share of budgets spent on education not the overall size of budgets. Why is working on tax crucial for education financing? What could and should GPE do concretely on linking tax and education – internationally, in developing countries, and in donor countries? And how can we make this happen? Five GPE Board members from 2 DCPs, a donor, a multilateral & a CSO will explore this with leading global figures on tax issues.
