The 2018 Edition Of The UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize Is Now Open For Nominations!
Funded by the Kingdom of Bahrain and established in 2005, the purpose of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Education is to reward projects and activities of individuals, institutions, other entities or non-governmental organizations for creative use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to enhance learning, teaching and overall educational performance.
In line with SDG4, the Prize recognizes innovative approaches in leveraging new technologies to enable the expansion of educational opportunities for all.
This year’s edition theme is “The use of innovative information and communications technologies to ensure education for the most vulnerable groups”. The Prize will focus on leveraging innovative technologies to deliver quality education for the most vulnerable groups. Special attention will be given to projects that use integrated solutions that blend commonly used technology with frontier technologies.
Two awards will be granted, and each recipient will receive a monetary award of USD 25,000 during the Award Ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris in March 2019.

- The online submissions in English or French together with a nomination letter (as attachment) issued by an NGO in official partnership with UNESCO should be submitted via the online platform by 31 October 2018 (midnight, Paris time).
- The international jury will meet in December 2018.
