The GCE Learning Academy is designed to strengthen the movement’s political consciousness and technical capacity through a structured, member-focused learning programme. It aims to build ideological alignment, enhance professional skills, and nurture intergenerational leadership to support effective education advocacy in a rapidly changing global landscape.
The long-term vision is for the Academy to become a flagship capacity-building platform within the global education movement—advancing continuous political education, strengthening advocacy strategies, and fostering collaboration between civil society and academia.
The first cohort of the GCE Learning Academy is being delivered in collaboration with The Alternatives Project (TAP). This partnership reflects a shared commitment to institutionalising learning through engagement with academic institutions and practitioners. TAP’s focus on “non-reformist reforms”—transformative changes that challenge existing systems rather than simply adapting them—aligns closely with the Academy’s emphasis on critical, political analysis within the education movement.
This inaugural cohort invites GCE members to register for seminars of interest. Registration is currently open for the upcoming Social Movements and Education seminar.
Each seminar is limited to 15 participants, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Members may register for up to three seminars. Once enrolment is confirmed, registration links will be shared directly with participants. Detailed course outlines, schedules, and preparatory materials will be provided in advance of each seminar.
You can sign up for up to 3 seminars per person HERE.
