GCE hosted an online GAWE Learning Workshop on Education Financing on 9 April 2026, from 2:00-3:30 PM SAST, bringing together civil society organisations, youth groups, national education coalitions, and partners to strengthen advocacy on education financing in the lead-up to Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) 2026.
The session explored key trends in domestic and international education financing, shared lessons from past campaigns and replenishment processes, and introduced the GAWE 2026 campaign pack, including advocacy priorities and communication tools to support coordinated national and regional actions. Participants heard from experts and education advocates on tax justice, debt, innovative financing, and global funds, and will have space to share their own plans and strategies to “Hold the Flame High” for the right to education.
