GCE, together with GIZ, ANCEFA (Africa Network Campaign on Education For All), and the national education coalitions RIP-EPT (Côte d’Ivoire), CET (Tunisia), COSYDEP (Senegal) and CEFAN (Cameroon), will host a regional learning and exchange workshop on Education Technology (EdTech) for francophone participants of the GenerationDigital! programme from 8-10 July 2026 in Grand-Bassam, Ivory Coast.
The event, titled, ‘Regional Exchange of GenerationDigital! Participants in Francophone Africa on Education Technology‘, is being organised in the framework of GCE’s 2023–2027 Strategic Plan, which highlights the vital role of digital technologies in expanding access to education and ensuring continuity of learning, especially for marginalised learners. It builds on six years of GCE’s EdTech initiatives and follows the November 2025 regional meeting of African coalitions in Johannesburg, which called for stronger mechanisms for peer learning and exchange on digital education.
The workshop aims to consolidate achievements and lessons from the GenerationDigital! EdTech programme implemented with national education coalitions in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Tunisia between 2025 and 2026. Participants will share evidence-based practices in digital education, analyse key challenges such as connectivity, infrastructure, and digital skills, and formulate policy recommendations and advocacy strategies to guide future EdTech interventions at national and regional levels.
The event will bring together representatives from GenerationDigital! coalitions (including RIP-EPT, CET, COSYDEP and CEFAN), other francophone coalitions, youth, and women leaders, as well as speakers from regional and international organisations, academia, and national authorities. The three-day programme will feature an official opening ceremony, panel discussions, interactive workshops, EdTech solution showcases, networking sessions, and field visits to local partners in the host country.
