In Burkina Faso, where conflict and insecurity have forced thousands of children out of classrooms, one girl’s journey has become a source of hope and inspiration.
After surviving the trauma of terrorism, Djélika Bonkoungo, an 11-year-old from northern Burkina Faso, found her way back to school, thanks to the unwavering advocacy of the Burkina Faso Education Coalition – Coalition Nationale EPT du Burkina Faso (CNEPT/BF).
This moving story was made possible through a collaboration between CNEPT/BF and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), which helped document how local advocacy can transform lives. The video, produced by GPE, captures the coalition’s tireless efforts to engage communities and work with authorities to defend every child’s right to learn, even in the most challenging circumstances.
More than a story of one girl, it’s a story of courage, community, and the unbreakable belief that education is every child’s path to safety, dignity, and a better future.
