GCE Buzz: February-March 2026

The February–March 2026 edition of GCE Buzz spotlights how our global movement is advancing the right to education amid intersecting crises, with a strong emphasis on gender-transformative education and justice for women and girls. This issue showcases education as a lever for equity, resilience, and systemic change across global, regional, and local levels.

Key contents include:

  • Advocacy at the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70)

  • Critical reflections on the 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report (GEMR)

  • Local leadership shaping the new strategy of Education Cannot Wait in Africa

  • Peace and human rights education in Armenia and Artsakh

  • Civil society action in Sudan, Togo, Cameroon, Senegal, Guinea, the DRC, and across the Arab region

  • Stories of youth leadership, feminist and tax justice organising, digital innovation, accountability for public education, and solidarity in emergencies, reaffirming GCE’s commitment to well-funded, inclusive, gender-just public education for all

These articles remind us that defending the right to education is closely tied to everyday struggles for justice, equality, and peace. They demonstrate how GCE members and partners are putting these values into practice, from global policy spaces to classrooms in communities facing crisis. This edition is an invitation to stay connected, share these stories, and keep adding your voice to the call for transformative, quality public education for all.
