NCE Nepal believes the power of advocacy triples when the international community, unites and collaborates under a shared common vision. To host the sixth GCE World Assembly is an incredible opportunity to showcase NCE Nepal’s work, profile, policies and advocacies that aim to strengthen public education throughout the region. We look forward to welcoming our global partners to the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu.

NCE Nepal embraces the opportunity to bring together CSOs working for the Right to Education from more than 100 countries. As a member of GCE, hosting this momentous event with the participation of the high level delegates including national and international guests amplifies the strength of NCE Nepal and provides an opportunity for networking, stronger rapport building with the government, increasing the chance for more positive engagement of CSOs in government led forums.

There is an urgency for CSOs, such as NCE Nepal, to always engage critically and constructively with the government. This 6thWorld Assembly provides the space for CSOs to escalate the free quality, public education call to governments, development partners and other agencies and highlights the significant role CSOs play globally and nationally to promote and transform the public education system.

The gathering of over 300 participants from more than half the countries of the world, from all continents and regions, emphasises civil society’s strength and commitment to pursuing the right to education throughout the global and eradicate the education crisis once and for all. This global platform, that comes around every 4 years is the appropriate space to discuss and adequately address, amongst ourselves, issues of transforming, strengthening public education systems that promote equality, gender, access and propels the inclusive agenda forward. This global meeting shapes the future direction of the global civil society movement and secures its space and participation in the global education arena to raise the voices of millions of children, young people, girls and women discriminated against their human right to education.

In conclusion, NCE Nepal team is proud and dedicated to the overall success of this 6th World Assembly in Kathmandu Nepal. We hope the success of the event, coupled with robust discussions and tangible actions steps, enforces to governments the global movement of civil society that NCE Nepal is a part of. Worldwide, we hope this significant occasion leaves a positive impression in the mindsets of governments regarding contributions of CSOs working towards strengthening public education. A united civil society, supported by political will, can bring an end to the global education crisis.
