As some of the wealthiest economies in the world, the G7 has a unique opportunity to demonstrate its continued commitment to financing education around the world at the Replenishment conference, and GCE hopes it will set a powerful example by pledging funds ambitiously and credibly.

Indeed, with prior contributions from G7 countries and other key donors, GPE has committed more than US$4.7 billion since 2002, but there is still a long way to go.

Trends in global financing of education show a decline over the past ten years, a worrying statistic given the fact that 264 million children and youth to this day remain out of school around the world.
