What happened in Action Week 2008? There were activities in ten provinces around the country. In North Makulu, a wish list was created by 1,500 children, stating what constitutes a quality education in their minds.
The list was handed over to politicians including the Head of the District of Bacan, during World’s Biggest Lesson. E-Net organised lessons in all ten provinces and in South Sulawesi, urban poor women taught the lesson attended by provincial legislators, religious leaders, district officials, women’s activists and other civil society activists.
Similar lessons were held in Jakarta and South East Sulawesi where women talked about poor literacy programmes and called for change to allow more women to receive an education.

A series of advocacy activities were carried out in Jakarta, Malang, Kupang and Musi Banyuasi District to raise public awareness and support for the Education for All goals. There were colourful parades of students and teachers who carried placards demanding education, and performed sketches demanding Education for All to education officials and politicians.
Round table discussions between university lecturers, students and education policy makers, discussed the Right to Education. Throughout the week children were central to the activities and were encouraged to take part, have fun and express their opinions about education.
