What happened in Action Week 2008? School students now have a special Danish ‘Action Week’ book called ‘Læseraketten’ that tells stories about education in poor countries. Schools used the book to get ready for the World’s Biggest Lesson. With the help of the book 183,425 (25% of all the students in Denmark) enrolled in the campaign to teach politicians the World’s Biggest Lesson, including their own Minister of Education. The public event took place at the Major Town Square in Copenhagen where the emphasis was on child labour and children’s right to a quality education. The World’s Biggest Lesson was held the next day followed by a Business Conference on the Globalisation of Education which was attended by members of the private sector and VIPs.
