What happened in Action Week 2008? The Bolivian Education Forum coordinated nationwide activities including a national meeting on quality in the city of Cochabamba, as well as parades, fairs, workshops, panel discussions and seminars in several cities. These were accompanied by press conferences and the participation through radio and television programs in the World Biggest Lesson to underscore the right to an education. The “Charter of Principles” by the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE) which outlines what the campaign was all about was also distributed to the authorities, education agencies, civil society and the media. Campaigners emphasised the need for an increase in the budget allocations assigned by the Bolivian State to non-formal or alternative education. Of importance during the celebrations was the announcement made last August about the implementation of a new education policy watch promoted by Action Aid, the German Association of Adult Education and the Bolivian Education Forum.

What happened in Action Week 2007?
Great human chains were formed in public spaces and education facilities in Bolivia. Parents, students and officials turned out in big numbers to support the call for the Right to Education. All the events culminated in the writing of a public charter, Education without exclusion: Government and Society in Action. The charter acknowledges the lack of quality education especially for women, poor people, the indigenous population and people living in rural areas, and calls upon the government to prioritize education for everyone.
