What happened in Action Week 2009?
Activities and story collections took place in 17 provinces. The Minister for Education, dubbed the Godfather of Education for All, attended the event in Bujumbura. There were also plays executed by students on the theme of Youth and Adult Literacy and Lifelong Learning.
What happened in Action Week 2008?
Action Week activities were conducted by the National Coalition BAFASHEBIGE in collaboration with the government, the international and national communities and NGOs who focused on the challenges of education for all. They developed a slogan which was printed on posters and distributed across the country. The media was also heavily involved in the launch of Action Week, which was attended by the Deputy Minister for basic and secondary education, UNESCO and UNICEF. The attendees witnessed two lessons, one from a student who made a plea for quality education for all and the other from the Minister of Education at a school south of the Bujumbura Capital. The Minister also received letters sent to the President on behalf of students from four provinces in the country.
What happened in Action Week 2007?

Seminars during Action Week were held to reflect upon the problems of supply of teachers, brain drain, how to best educate orphans and vulnerable children and to address the macroeconomic policies about education in Burundi. Campaigners engaged in dialogue with the Ministry of Education and donors, on a long term education plan and requested long-term funding. Children also assembled during the week, with as many as 6,500 JOINING UP in Gatumba.
